History
In 1979, the first test tube baby Louise Brown in 1979 in the United Kingdom, by Steptoe and Edwards. In 2005 the first test tube baby was born in Uganda, East Africa and this was facilitated by Dr Ssali and his team of embryologists. DARIVF is a subsidiary clinic of Womens-Hospital International and due to the demand of patients coming from Tanzania it was decided to set up a sister clinic in Dar-es-Saalam. It is also noteworthy that we are the first successful IVF clinic in Tanzania’s history.
Thanks to God that, since the birth of the first test tube baby Louise Brown in 1979 in the United Kingdom, by Steptoe and Edwards, tremendous developments of this new technology have helped many couples who would otherwise never have been able to conceive. By the end of the year 2002, there have been more than 1 million babies born world-wide using this technology.
